Port Alert Configuration
1. To review the available port alert commands, type: configure ports alert ?
The following Help screen appears.

2. Enable the port monitor by tying the following commands:
configure ports monitor enable port
3. Add a port alert string (up to 30 characters) by typing the following command:
configure ports alert add port
4. Continue to add port alert strings to the same port if needed. Up to five alert strings are allowed
per port.
5. Configure the port to select for forwarding either case-sensitive matches (default) or as case-
insensitive matches. Case-sensitive matches have the least impact on throughput since the SC-
ADT will not convert case mismatches.
•
(Default) To configure the port for case-sensitive matches with the attached device, type:
configure ports alert match-case port[#]
•
To configure the port for case-insensitive matches with the attached device, type:
configure ports alert ignore-case port[#]
6. To check the port alert configuration for the port, type: show ports alert port[#]
An example display is shown below.

7. Repeat

(where the first argument is the "from" port number, followed by the "to" port number).

Type Y at the confirmation prompt to copy the alert string as designated.
