SC-ADT Configuration

Modem Port Configuration

The SC-ADT front panel Port1 and Port2 can be configured as modem ports (m0 and m1). This
allows these ports to function, in any combination, as:
Internal modems (if available)
External GDC V.34 modems
Bypass modem ports to customer-supplied IP devices (for IP transport - no modem required)
Note
When Port1 and Port2 are configured as internal and/or external modem ports, both modems are locked to
the same DTE rate of 115,200 kbps. When one modem port is configured as an internal/external modem port
and the other as a bypass modem port, the DTE rate for both ports is locked to the bypass rate set by the user.
Cabling and configuration procedures vary, depending on the desired application.
For online help in configuring external, internal and bypass modem modes, type:

configure interfaces ip-address modem0 172.16.5.6 255.255.0.0
configure interfaces ip-address modem1 172.16.5.7 255.255.0.0
4. Enter a description for each modem interface by typing:
configure interfaces description modem
For example:
configure interfaces description modem0
configure interfaces description modem1
5. Enable the modem interfaces by typing:
