Installing the SC-ADT
SC-ADT 8-port or 16-port Device
1. Insert the SC-ADT card into any single slot of a SpectraComm shelf or enclosure until the card
makes contact with the backplane connectors.
2. Pull down the insertion/extraction tab on the front panel while firmly pushing the card until it
seats in the rear connectors.
3. Attach the card retention bar, if provided.
SC-ADT 32-port Device
1. The SC-ADT 32-port device is shipped from the factory as a two-card assembly: the SC-ADT
base card and the SC-ADT Expansion card. The two cards are fastened together by rear entry,
on-board signal connectors and stand-offs. Do not separate the cards.
2. Insert the cards into any two adjacent slots in a SpectraComm 5000 shelf until the base card
makes contact with the backplane connector.
3. Pull down the insertion/extraction tab on the front panel of the SC-ADT base card while firmly
pushing both cards until they seat in the rear connectors.
4. Attach the card retention bar, if provided.
Note
IMPORTANT! If you are installing the SC-ADT in a SC 2000 shelf, do not wall-mount the shelf.
Wallmounting does not provide sufficient strain relief for the front panel cable assemblies.
Note
Using the card retention bar will ensure the SC-ADT device remains securely seated in the backplane
connectors.
