Dialin Port Configuration Procedures

1. Set the desired front panel port to Dialin mode as follows:
configure dialin port
2. Set the primary Telnet server IP address as follows:
configure dialin pri-ip-address port
For example:
configure dialin pri-ip-address port3 172.016.009.118 255.255.255.0
3. Optionally, set the backup Telnet server IP address as follows:
configure dialin bak-ip-address port
4. Set the communications parameters for the Dialin port in a single command string.
For example:
configure ports comms port7 115200 8N1
where port number is (0, 1, 2 ... n, or all)
where Baud Rate is (300 to 115200)
Values may also be set in this string for additional comms parameters (optional):
Data Bits (5, 6, 7 or 8)
Parity (None, Even, Odd, Space or Mark)
Stop Bits (1 or 2)
5. Turn Monitor mode OFF for the Dialin port:
configure ports monitor disable port
6. Enter the following command from the ADT's CLI root menu for each configured Telnet
server. This command will test that a configured Telnet server is reachable and can accept a
Telnet client from the ADT.
telnet
7. To clear server IPs for Dialin, type: clear [Remote device IP address]
8. To force a disconnect of any Dialin port or modem, type:
configure dialin disconnect port (0, 1, 2 ... n, or all)
9. When all desired ports have been adequately configured for Dialin mode as required, check the
configuration by typing: show dialin
