SC-ADT Configuration
Bypass Modem Port Configuration
The SC-ADT front panel Port1 and Port2 can be configured as bypass modem ports (m0 and m1).
This allows the SC-ADT to provide an IP address to an attached customer-supplied IP device and
forward data to that device (no modem required).

Bypass Modem Configuration Procedure
1. Check that the customer-supplied IP device is properly connected to Port1 or Port 2.
(Port1 is m0; Port 2 is m1). Refer to Chapter 2 under
2. Check that any port intended for Bypass modem use is not currently in use as a Term or Tranport port.
3. Configure the modem interface for Bypass Mode as follows:
configure modem use bypass modem
4. Set the bypass rate for both modem interfaces (from 2400 to 115200):
configure modem bypass rate
Note
If Port1 and Port2 are both configured for modem use, the ports will be locked to the same DTE rate as
configured by the user. Be aware that when one modem port is configured for modem bypass and the other
for an internal/external modem, the DTE rate for both ports will be locked to the configured bypass rate.
5. Set the bypass disconnect on loss of DTR or RTS from DTE:
configure modem bypass disconnect
6. Configure each modem interface by typing:
configure interfaces ip-address modem
For example:
configure interfaces ip-address modem0 192.168.11.20 255.255.255.0
7. Enter a description for each modem interface by typing:
configure interfaces description modem
8. Enable the modem interfaces by typing:
configure interfaces enable modem
9. Enable access to modem services by typing:
services access enable modem
