Overview

The SC-ADT supports the following additional features:

Time Protocols

(SC-ADT with internal modem)

(System Message Log, Alarm Log, Modem Log, ACL Violation Log, Modem Activity Log,
Network Statistics)
Port Monitoring & Port Alerts
SNMP Traps
Time Protocols
SC-ADT supports Simple Network Time Protocol (RFC2030) and Time Protocol (RFC 868). When
configured for SNTP or TP, SC-ADT will receive and use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to
timestamp the SNMP traps, System Messages and Alarms when they are generated. When neither
SNTP nor TP is configured, the SC-ADT will use a relative System Up Time for timestamping.

SNTP/TP Client Configuration Procedure

1. Configure SC-ADT for receiving GMT, type:
configure time server add
2. Configure SC-ADT for either SNTP or TP by typing one of the following commands:
To configure SC-ADT for SNTP, type:
configure time protocol sntp
To configure SC-ADT for TP, type:
configure time protocol tp
3. Enable the desired protocol by typing:
configure enable time
4. To verify the configuration, type
