The first calculation and second calculations have now been set up with default
parameters. No parameters need to be set for the third calculation.
The parameters of the second calculation will need to be changed. Set displacement
to 4mm and occurrence to '1'.
5) Setting the Pass/Fail Limits
The required tolerance limits can be set up within the 'Set Limits' facility ([1], [3], [2],
[2]). If, for example, a 2 litre PET carbonated beverage bottle is being tested,
i)
Enter 180N as the target 'peak load', and 20% as the tolerance
ii) Enter 125N as the target '1
iii) Enter 345mm as the target 'free height', and 1% as the tolerance
6) Running the Program
i)
At the Main Menu screen, press [1] until 'TUTORIAL-2' is displayed
ii) Press [Stop/BK SP], to load 'TUTORIAL-2' and display the 'live screen'
iii) Press [(-)/Tare], [1] to set the load and displacement reading to zero
iv) Press [0/Touch] button, press [Start/ENT], then set touch-on speed to
10mm/min,
v) press [Start/ENT], then set touch-on load to 0.5N.
vi) Press [0/Touch] button again.
The crosshead will drive down, touch onto the anvil plate, remember this position,
then drive back to the 'home' position (see [1], [3], [3], [5]). Now the 'free height'
calculation will be relative to the position of the anvil plate, i.e. the 'absolute zero
position' has been set (see, [1], [3], [2], [1]).
vii) If necessary, use the [Jog Up] or [Jog Dn] key to position the compression
plate just above the neck of the container to be tested.
viii) Press [Start/Ent] to run 'TUTORIAL-2'
st
load setpoint', and 20% as the tolerance
