Up to five test procedures can be pre-defined and stored in internal non-volatile
memory for later recall and execution. Each test procedure can be named (20
alphanumeric characters maximum) individually to reflect what the test has been
designed to achieve. The control, analyses, engineering units, data acquisition, and
alarm functions are all stored within the named procedure. Changing options within
one procedure does not change any other procedure. (Note: all procedures will be
affected however by changes made within the Utilities Menu.)
There are three generic types of test procedure:
i)
A 'monotonic' test - a single speed test from beginning to end which can be
either in the 'pull' (tensile) or 'push' (compressive) direction
ii) A 'dual segment' test – two segments can be programmed, this allows more
complex control, including a loadholding
iii) A 'cyclic' test – which allows creation of a test to cycle either between two load
values or two positions.
A test procedure can be programmed by using the following commands:
a)
