Note: If a new test procedure regularly behaves in an unexpected manner, the most
probable reason is that one of the initial setting is influencing the test in a way that
had not been anticipated when the program was being developed. If, for example,
step (iii) above is omitted, when the Tutorial-1 procedure is run, it could fail almost
immediately if a sensitive sample break setting remains from a previous test.
Similarly, if step (iv) is omitted, Tutorial-1 could start to run at the 'touch speed' rather
than the speed specified in Segment A (see, (3)(i) below).
2) Choosing a Name
i)
Change the name of the current procedure ([1], [4], [4] Procedure Name), by
overwriting the default name with 'TUTORIAL-1'. (Note that it will be necessary
to reject the opportunity to re-name other procedures, before the Utilities menu
is re-displayed)
Press the [Stop/BK SP] key to return to the Main Menu.
3) Creating the Program
The sequence of control commands can be created by selecting 'Define T(e)st
Profile' ([1], [3], [3], [1]):
i)
Set a test speed of 6mm/min for segment A
ii) Opt for segment A to run for a given time; enter 10 seconds as that time
iii) Choose 'Yes' option to create a segment B
iv) Set a test speed of -60mm/min for segment B
v) Opt for segment B to run for a given time; enter 1 second as that time
vi) Do not press [1] to opt to cycle between segments, i.e. leave as 'OFF'
Press the [Stop/BK SP] key twice to return to the Main Menu. (Note that a message
advising that the new test procedure is being saved will be displayed for a while,
before the Main Menu is re-displayed)
4) Defining the Calculations
The required calculations can be set up within the 'Select Analysis' facility ([1], [3], [2],
[1])
i)
Activate the Peak calculation, <1>, scroll to the next calculation, [Jog Dn]
