10. Remove hardware retaining friction disc to drive
carrier and remove friction disc. See Figure 17.
Install Friction Disc
1.
Secure friction disc to drive carrier with three tapping
screws and torque to 7 – 8 N•m (5 – 6 lb-ft).
IMPORTANT: Friction disc MUST be installed with cup side
facing drive carrier. See Figure 17.

2.
Reinstall two flat steel washers onto drive carrier and
reinstall drive carrier into shift fork.
3.
Reinstall hex shaft through friction disc, pinion gear
and into bearing.
IMPORTANT: Make sure pinion gear aligns with chain.

4.
Reinstall spring clips into hex shaft.
5.
Reinstall bearing flange to hex shaft end and secure to
frame with three tapping screws.
6.
Reinstall bottom cover and secure with two tapping
screws and four hex bolts.
7.
Reinstall wheels and secure with snap clips.
8.
Rotate tractor to operating position, support
handlebars and reinstall brush assembly. See Install
Brush to Frame on page 8.
9.
Adjust speed selector lever. Refer to Operator's
Manual for adjustment procedure.
10. Fill fuel tank and reconnect spark plug wire.
IMPORTANT: Check all adjustments after first use.
