Economical driving tips

• Accelerate your vehicle gently. Avoid
unnecessarily sudden acceleration or
braking. Keep the same speed as long
as possible.
• Avoid unnecessarily high speed driving.
• It is advisable to drive in the top gear
when driving in high speed. This will help
reduce engine noise level as well as fuel
consumption.
• Time your driving to help the vehicle move
as long as possible since moving the
vehicle from a stop requires more fuel.
• Drive sensibly and maintain your vehicle
properly (refer to Section 13). This will
keep originally-designed performance
of your vehicle as well as save fuel.
• Do not overload.
• Do not keep engine idling unnecessarily.
• Turn the air conditioner off when not
required.
• Remove the roof rack when not required.

Brake system

Tandem master cylinder brake system
Your Perodua is equipped with a tandem
master cylinder brake system. Each brake
system functions independently.
If either of the brake system should fail,
the other system still works. However, the
brake system requires increased force and
the stopping distance will be increased.
Furthermore, the brake warning light should
go on.

Do not continue driving with the
malfunctioning brake system.
Have the system checked immediately.
Brake booster
The brake booster utilizes engine manifold
vacuum to assist braking force.

If the engine is stopped while driving,
braking will require more force than
usual and stopping distance will
increase.
In this case, shift the gear to neutral
and get the vehicle to the side of the
road safely. Put the hazard lights on
once you have stopped and get an
authorized Perodua Service Centre
or tow truck service for assistance.
