Before starting engine

1. Perform the pre-starting check.
See Section 13.
2. Check the safety around the vehicle
before entering it.
3. Make sure that the parking brake is
applied and the transmission lever at H
(automatic transmission) .
4. Adjust seat position, seatback angle, and
headrest height.
5. Adjust the inside mirror and outside
mirrors.
6. Fasten seat belts.
7. Tur n off unnecessar y lights and
accessories.
8. Check fuel gauge if fuel is enough to drive.

 hen using a floor mat, arrange it
properly to ensure it will not interfere
with the free movement of the brake
pedal or acceleration pedal. Do not
stack more than one floor mat.
Secure the floor mat in place, using the
special fasteners. (If equipped)
Failure to observe this warning may
cause the brake pedal or accelerator
pedal to get stuck on the floor mat,
leading to accidents.

Starting engine

CAUTION
Do not crank the starter continuously
for more than 10 seconds.
Do not race a cold engine to prevent
engine damage.
Keep moderate speed until the
engine warms up thoroughly.
Make sure that you have seated on the
driver seat before starting the engine.
Do not turn the key from outside. Your
car may unexpectedly move while
turning the ignition switch.
Do not accelerate the vehicle when the
engine coolant temperature is low.
