Control Concept
The motorized focusing unit can be connected by means of the PC Interface Kit to any
standard PC, Macintosh computer or terminal with RS232 interface from which it can then
be controlled.
The manual control unit is connected to the motorized focusing unit via an internal bus
(CAN-bus). The manual control unit can also receive commands and send back messages.
Commands intended for the motorized focusing unit (unit identifier 70) are executed directly
by the motorized focusing unit itself. The motorized focusing unit passes on commands
intended for the manual control unit (unit identifier 71) to the manual control unit via an
internal bus.

Cable

With the included interface cable, the motorized focusing unit can be connected directly to
the serial interface (RS232) of a PC or terminal. Connectors for serial interfaces are
implemented with either 9 pin or 25 pin, therefore a 9-to-25 pin gander changer is included.
The PC interface kit uses the inlet "Control 1" on the motorized focusing unit. The "Control
1"-inlet is designed to work with either the footswitch or the PC interface kit.
It is also possible to work with the PC interface kit and the footswitch simultaneous by
connecting the footswitch to the optional connection at the interface cable and connecting
the interface cable to the "Control 1"-inlet.
