3.1. Overview
Cortex™ is an OPEX software system that interfaces with the customers main
Warehouse Management System (WMS), providing "work flow" control at one
or more OPEX Perfect Pick machines, with or without a workstation. The
Cortex equipment control system keeps track of local tote/cell inventory, and
utilizes color-coordinated pick-to-light order progress indicators making
integration with warehouse management systems (WMS) quick and easy.
At a minimum level, Cortex consists of a Database server with backup
functionality, and an Aisle Controller (AC) with a Workstation User Interface
(WUI).
This document will cover the basic functions and operations of the Cortex
system. The actual setup could vary from site to site, since the Cortex system
is designed to function and interact with a variety of third-party components
and specific site requirements. As a result, images used in this manual may
vary from your actual setup.
