4. Insert the link rod onto the joint hole and hold
it vertically. Apply Yamaha Marine Grease
before assembly.

5. Apply Yamaha Marine Grease to the shift
control lever (inner) and install it to the bot-
tom cowling and the link rod.
6. Insert the shift control lever (outer), with the
plastic washer, to the rectangular hole in the
shift control lever (inner).

7. Align the spring pin holes and drive the
spring pin into the hole by using a pin punch
and a hammer.

8. Install the rubber grommet in the bottom
cowling. Route the wire harness through the
grommet if it is necessary.
9. The parts shown below should be assembled
separately, as a sub-assembly and installed to
the bottom cowling.
10. Connect the remote control cables to the
remote control bracket (shift side first).
N O T E : Fit in place the throttle cable and the shift
cable to the bracket, and hold them with the
clamp.
