Dynamic Check
CAUTION:
T he engine is going to be started for checking.
T herefore, the engine should be supplied cool-
ing water.
Before performing the dynamic check, make sure
the following conditions are met:
• Lock plate is installed to the engine stop
switch.
• Shift position is neutral.
• Insert the key into the main switch, and turn
to the "OFF" position.
• Throttle control is fully closed.
5. Check the start in gear protection.
a. Shift into forward/reverse.
b. Turn the key to "START." The starter
motor should not turn over.
c. Shift into neutral.
d. Turn the key to "START." The starter
motor will turn over.

6. Check the main switch.
a. Turn the main switch to "ON" from
"OFF" then to "START." The starter
motor turns over then the engine will start.
b. Turn the main switch to "OFF" from
"ON." The running engine should stop.
7. Check the engine stop switch.
a. Run the engine.
b. Pull the lanyard off the lock plate. The
running engine will stop.
8. Check for steady engine speed.
a. Run the engine at idle.
b. Steer the tiller handle.
c. Tilt up/down the tiller handle. Make sure a
steady engine speed is kept.
