2001 HPDI Water Detection Switch

The HPDI engines were introduced with a new
warning feature. The engines come standard with
water detection switch mounted on the engine.
When water is present the switch will activate and
the alarm will sound along with a reduction of
engine rpm's.
A harness, Part No. 68F-83553-00-00, has been
developed that allows for a visual warning. This
harness is connected to the Fuel Management
Gauge. It will activate the current water in fuel
symbol present on that gauge.
This harness comes standard in the engine crate
on all left-hand rotation HPDI engines. The wire
diagrams are as follows:
This harness will work on either a single engine
application or twins. The harness will plug into
the white/red wire that is located on the starboard
side of the engine harness. Remove the cap and
plug in the black connector from the harness.
Run the harness through the rigging grommet.
The bullet connectors will plug inline with the
fuel management harness. They will connect with
the sensor wires that are provided in the harness
for the water detection sensors that are optional
for the water/fuel separating filters. (Part No.
MAR-10171-30-0).
