Installation Guide Linear Rotary Motors

3.9 Option Stainless Steel Front Flange (SSC)

The stainless steel front flange option offers the user hygiene at the highest level. Linear rotary motors with
this option can be used in machines and systems for processing food products or in the pharmaceutical and
medical industries. With this option, the user benefits from a partially increased IP degree of protection as
well as the possibility to use the front of the linear rotary motor even in extremely rough or corrosive
environments where aggressive cleaning agents are used.
The exact list of materials used can be found in chapter 4.6.
The user is obliged to check whether the cleaning agents used are compatible with the
materials of the stainless steel front flange.
The stainless steel front flange may only be cleaned when the axle is at a standstill. It is
recommended that cleaning is carried out with the linear rotary shaft extended.
The linear rotary shaft must be dried before it is put back into operation.
Any parts that do not belong to the zone of the stainless steel front flange may not be
corrosion-resistant and can therefore only be cleaned to a limited extent. They have a
reduced IP degree of protection.
The specified IP degree of protection is achieved at standstill.

3.10 Option Stainless Steel Housing (SSCH)

The SSCH housing option extends the SSC front option and encases the entire reciprocating rotary motor
with a stainless steel housing. As a result, such motors have a uniformly high IP protection rating (IP69s) and
can withstand "in place" cleaning processes such as CIP and SIP. They are specially designed for the food
or pharmaceutical & medical industry.

3.11 Option Pneumatic Holding Brake

Linear rotary motors are electromagnetic direct drives and therefore do not have self-locking. In order to fix
the linear rotary shaft in the de-energized state, the pneumatic holding brake option can also be used as an
alternative to the MagSpring option.
The pneumatic holding brake is a one-way cylinder with spring return, which can be mounted on the front of
the PR02-52 motor. To open and close the brake, an additional electric solenoid valve is required which is
controlled by the LinMot Servo Drive. The spring return is released by compressed air and guarantees the
braked state even in the event of a pressure drop.
To reduce wear, it is recommended to control the brake via the LinMot Drive.
The brake has a pure holding function and is not designed to slow down or stop
dynamic movements.
Not to be used for safety devices!
Not approved as a safety element!

3.12 Option angled Motor Connector (R01)

In order to offer the user an even shorter installation length, linear rotary motors of the PR02-52 family are
optionally available with a motor angle connector. Since this option is only a mechanical variant, the function
of the motor remains the same.
Further information can be found in the drawings in chapter 10.
PR02-52 linear rotary motors with the angled motor connector are only available on
request.
