Schedule/Monitor Screen (continued)
MON: This field displays the emitted laser energy in joules (J). The energy is measured
each time the laser beam pulse is emitted. When the laser beam pulse is emitted repeat-
edly at a high repetition rate, however, the energy of each shot is not indicated since the
display speed cannot keep pace with high pulse repetition rates. The nominal energy
appears at high repetition rates.
TOTAL COUNT: The total number of laser beam pulses is indicated in this field. This
value is an indication of flash lamp consumption.
GOOD COUNT: The number of good laser pulses is indicated in this field. A good pulse
is defined as one in the allowable energy range, as set within the ENERGY HIGH/LOW
parameters. This count can be set to 0, as described under Maintenance Screen later in
this chapter.
PPS: The pulse repetition rate in pulses per second is set in this field (200pps 9999shot
DMY=999). The pulse repetition rate range is 0 to 200pps. The shot field sets the total
number of laser beam pulses to be emitted continuously in a sequence. The setting range
is 0 to 9999 pulses. DMY is the abbreviation for dummy shots, which is the number of
dummy laser pulses to be emitted. The main shutter is not opened until the preset number
of dummy shots is emitted.
WATER: This field display the temperature of the deionized cooling water. The value
always appears in the same place on the screen.
HV: With HV: (high voltage) ON showing, the HIGH VOLTAGE indicator on the status
panel will be ON. With HV:OFF showing, the high voltage is not applied and operation
cannot start.
MAIN SHUTTER: With MAIN SHUTTER:ON showing, the main shutter opens and the
laser beam can be oscillated. With MAIN SHUTTER:OFF showing, the main shutter is
closed to prevent laser beam oscillation.
POSITION: With POSITION:OFF showing, the red diode aiming laser is activated. With
POSITION:OFF showing, the red diode aiming laser is turned off.
Maintenance Screen. The data fields in the maintenance screen (Figure 2-10) are as
follows:
Perform only TOTAL COUNT RESET and GOOD COUNT
RESET on the maintenance screen. Only qualified maintenance
personnel should adjust laser oscillation.
