Laser Oscillator Head (continued)
Diode Aiming Reflector Mirrors: The two diode aiming reflector mirrors adjust the
direction of the diode aiming laser beam so that it passes through the center of the YAG
laser beam path.
Diode Aiming Laser: The diode aiming laser outputs a visible red laser beam. This
beam is used to guide the adjustment of mirrors and resonator optics, align the optical
fibers to the laser beam input unit, and position the laser beam on the work pieces.
Display Screen Descriptions
There are four major screens: schedule/monitor, maintenance, monitor, and status. The status
of the screens changes each time the MENU key is pressed. As shown below:
Hatched characters (000):
These characters are in data fields, selected with the cursor keys, into which you can enter
or edit values, or turn conditions on and off.
Outline characters (
These characters are display characters only and cannot be changed.
Schedule/Monitor Screen. The data fields in the schedule/monitor screen (Figure 2-9)
are as follows:
Schedule #: The output condition of
the laser beam is indicated as
SCHEDULE. Up to 16 schedules,
from 00 to 15, can be set. Input a
schedule number to be set up to store
a weld schedule. Use the schedule to
control the pulse duration, waveform
and voltage to the flash lamp.
FLASH and COOL: The waveform is
produced by combining one each of FLASH1, FLASH2 and FLASH3 times, COOL1 and
COOL2 times, and the voltage setting of VOLTA and VOLTB (refer to Chapter 6 under
Waveform Control).
ENERGY HIGH/LOW: These fields set the upper limit (HIGH) and lower limit (LOW)
of the energy monitor.
AVERAGE: The average power in watts (W) is displayed in this field every second.
