Probe integrity test for TEOAE

A test cavity called the Infant Ear Simulator is provided with Sera
the OAE modules.
The probe integrity test ensures that system distortions are not being generated by the probe or hardware.
The probe tip should be inspected for wax or debris prior to conducting the test. And testing should be
conducted in a quiet environment
Please note: If a probe is handled roughly (e.g., dropped onto a hard surface), it might need to be calibrated
again. Calibration values of the probe are stored in the probe plug. Therefore, probes can always be
exchanged.

TM
Simulator provided with the Sera
2. Select the quick test option on the main screen and run a standard
TEOAE test. Let the test run until it stops automatically. Do not stop
the test manually.
3. If the probe is functioning correctly (no TE bands get a checkmark), it
is possible to continue with daily testing.
4. If error messages appear during testing or if one or more of the TE
bands has a checkmark above it at the end of the test, the probe
integrity test has failed. Check and clean the probe tip for wax or
debris and redo the test. If the probe test fails a second time, the

must not be used to test on patients. Contact your local
