If you can connect in PPP mode, but not in ML-PPP mode, here are
some possible explanations:
•
Your ISP may not support ML-PPP accounts.
•
Your ISP may not have activated an ML-PPP connection for you.
•
If you are not getting the throughput you expect in ML-PPP mode,
make sure that your ISDN TA's port speed is set to at least
230,400 bps. Add %B39 to your initialization string. The com-
mand %B39 sets the port speed to 460,800 bps; %B38 sets the
port speed to 230,400 bps. (Under Windows 95 dial-up network-
ing, the port speed should be set to 460,800 bps by default. You
can confirm this by viewing the Connect message.)
Voice Connections
The application software shows that a voice call has connected, but
there is no sound in the handset.
•
Check handset line connections both to the ISDN TA and to the
handset.
•
Note that not all handsets will work with the ISDN TA. They must
use a condenser rather than an electret microphone. If you have
doubts, use the supplied handset.
•
If you can't make voice calls, check the previous section, The
ISDN TA will not make calls. Pay special attention to DNs and
SPIDs.
•
If you can't receive voice calls, check the previous section, The
ISDN TA will not receive calls. Pay special attention to DNs and
DN call type assignment.
