The most common error with terminal adapter cards is that the
communications software is not configured for the same COM port
as the TA. Check which COM port the TA is using. Make sure
that the software's COM port setting matches the TA's COM port
setting.
•
Try enabling echo and verbose responses by typing ATE1V1. Or
return to default settings by typing AT&F.
The application reports "Initialization Error" or similar message.
The PC will not communicate with the ISDN TA or reports "Can-
not find the ISDN TA."
•
There may be a resource conflict for the COM port or IRQ selected
for the ISDN TA. Confirm that the application and the ISDN TA
are both configured to use the same COM port.

See Chapter 2 sections on configuring Windows 95 or 3.1 (or
3.11).
•
The ISDN TA may be improperly seated in the ISA socket on the
PC motherboard. See Chapter 2, Installation .
•
There may be a hardware problem either in your PC or in the ISDN
board. Contact your PC manufacturer or retailer for technical sup-
port.
The ISDN TA takes too long to hang up at the end of a call.
•
Your ISDN TA may not be receiving the required initialization
string, which should include the &C1 setting, from your software.
•
Type +++ ATH to hang up.
•
In your software, make sure you have selected your TA. If not,
select it and exit and restart your communications software. If you
still have problems, add &C1 to the initialization string and exit
and restart the software. (See Tips for Selecting Setup Options in
Chapter 3.)
You receive an ERROR response when trying to execute a com-
mand.
•
Check whether you typed the command correctly.
•
Check whether the command is a valid one.
•
Be sure your command line contains fewer than 255 characters.
The ISDN TA does not auto-answer.
