Setting Up in Windows NT
Note:
You must be running Windows NT version 4.0 or higher and
a Plug and Play (PnP) BIOS in order to use the ISDN TA un-
der Windows NT. Most personal computers that ship with
Windows NT 4.0 or higher have a PnP BIOS. To find out
whether your computer has a PnP BIOS, look for a PnP ver-
sion number during start up, or refer to your computer docu-
mentation.
Since Windows NT does not automatically detect the new TA, you
must go through the setup procedure manually.
1.
Open the Control Panel under Settings.
2.
Open Modems.
3.
In the Install New Modem dialog box click Next.
Windows NT now looks for the TA. When the TA is found it is
listed as Standard Modem.
4.
Click Change.
5.
In the Install New Modem dialog box, click Have Disk.
6.
Insert the Utilities disk or CD-ROM into the appropriate drive.
7.
In the Install from Disk dialog box type A:\ (or the correct letter
of your floppy drive) and click OK.
8.
From the list, select the device that most closely matches the type
of device and model you are installing (for example, ISDN TA
Internal) and click OK.
9.
Click Next.
Your device has been set up successfully message appears.
10. Click Finish.
In the Modem Properties dialog box click OK, then Close to
exit the Modem dialog box.
If you have previously set up Dial-up Networking, a Modem
Setup box appears with Dial-up Networking needs to be con-
figured.
