Viewing the
Displaying the event log is useful during troubleshooting. Events that are logged include:

To view the event log, use the following steps.

Downloading
Downloading the event log may be necessary when troubleshooting TeleMon. To download
the Event Log
the event log, a connection between the PC and TeleMon needs to be established. This
connection gives you access to the event log file(s). For information on connecting the
TeleMon to a PC, see "Upgrading the Software" on page 5-19. Use the following steps to
download the TeleMon Event Log onto a PC.

Step 10. Double click on the Ffx1 subdirectory.
Step 11. Copy the RunTimeLog.txt file to a floppy, or to the hard drive.

Select View the Event Log from the Device Setup Menu.
Use the up/down arrows on the front panel to scroll through the log.
Use the up/down buttons to view the upper or lower portion of the screen. For logs
with more than one section, press the View older log. This key is available only if
two sections exist.
Press Done to exit the Event Log.
To exit Setup, press Done twice and then Accept.
When the Event Log reaches a maximum size, TeleMon copies the Event Log to a
Enable ActiveSync serial connections. For details, see "Enabling/Disabling
ActiveSync Serial Connections" on page 5-23.
Connect the synch cable to the host PC.
With TeleMon OFF, remove the door that protects the TeleMon upgrade port,
underneath the monitor. (You may use a slot-head screwdriver to carefully push and
release the latch.)
Connect the free end of the synch cable to TeleMon.
Turn TeleMon ON to establish the connection.
When the host PC asks if you want to set up a partnership, select No. (TeleMon
does not support full partnerships over ActiveSync.)
Click the Next button on the PC.
Open Windows Explorer on the PC.
Select the Mobile Device directory, and double-click on My Computer.
If a file RunTimeOld.txt is available, copy that file as well.
