Erect an obstacle at the minimum safe distance (A) from the overhead
power line. This will keep the equipment of the truck crane and load/lifting
tackle away from the power line. Make allowance for the possibility the
load or the cable may swing.
Cordon off the area around the truck crane at the safe distance (A).
This increases the safety area in case the power line is touched.
Have banksmen in visual or radio contact with you; check that you are
observing the safe distance (A).
If the load has to be guided, use only guide ropes of non-conductive
material.
If you do touch the overhead power cable:
Keep calm!
Do not leave the crane cab!
Tell anyone standing outside not to touch the truck crane, the load or the
lifting tackle!
