9.1.2 Replacing a Disk Drive

Note – If there are two drives, install the drives into their original slots. If the
drives are not installed in their original slots, the system may fail to boot, or
file systems may fail to mount.
1. With the drive handle open, press on the end of the drive to insert the
drive all the way into the chassis and connect it to the SCSI backplane.
See Figure 9-3.

2. Close the drive handle until the release latch clicks and the handle is
securely latched to the chassis.
See Figure 9-3.
Note – The drive handle will not latch if the drive is not fully inserted into the
slot.
