HUMIDIFICATION (1.4 STEPPER BASED MODELS
ONLY)
It is important to check the inspiratory and expiratory resistance specification of
the patient circuits used with the iVent
exceed the following limits when adding attachments or other components or
subassemblies to the breathing circuit:
O.6 KPA (6cmH2O) at 60 L/min for adult patients.
O.5 KPA (5cmH2O) at 30 L/min for pediatric patients.
If required, a Heat and Moisture Exchanger may be placed between the flow
sensor and the patient connection.
A contaminated HME filter can impede the ventilator's Patient Disconnect
alarm detection. Do not use any filter that appears to be discolored or filled
with water.
Adding attachments, components or sub-assemblies to the iVent
breathing circuit may increase the pressure gradient.
To administer medication, install an adapter for MDI treatment between the flow
sensor and the patient connection.
