Assigning a Mailbox to an Extension

Assigning a Mailbox to an Extension
Before you begin, locate Form 1: Mailbox Assignments for PARTNER Voice
Messaging. Check to see whether mailbox assignments have been changed
from the factory defaults. By default, mailboxes 01, 02, 03, and 04 are assigned
to extensions 10, 11, 12, and 13 respectively. Be sure to enter two-digit mailbox
numbers (that is, 01, 02, 03, or 04) in the following procedure. If mailbox
assignments are not numbered differently, skip to "Recording the Automated
Attendant Menu Prompt."
It is recommended that the default mailbox assignments be used. If any of these
four mailboxes is not needed for the corresponding extension, it may be
reassigned to another extension.
NOTE:
If the mailbox has not been initialized, the system notifies you that the
mailbox must be reinitialized before you can change the extension. Refer to
"Reinitializing a Mailbox" for instructions. Then repeat this procedure.
Assign mailboxes to extensions as specified on Form 1:
1. Log into System Administration according to the appropriate procedure.
2. Press 1 to assign mailboxes to extensions.
3. Enter the two-digit number of a mailbox (01 to 04) to be changed as
indicated on Form 1.
NOTE:
If this mailbox has already been used (that is, a personal greeting
has been recorded, the mailbox password has been changed, or
any messages are in the mailbox), you must reinitialize the mailbox
before reassigning it. See "Reinitializing a Mailbox," later in this
chapter.
4. As indicated on Form 1, enter the extension number for the mailbox,
followed by #.
NOTE:
If the mailbox is already assigned to an extension, the system plays
the current assignment and then plays:
To modify, enter new extension and #. To exit
without changing, press *#.
5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each mailbox to be changed.
