motor defect or foreign body blocking it.
Error 5 is displayed if a defect is recognised during a self-test.
If the control unit does not switch automatically to »Normalbetrieb« (normal operation) after an attempted troubleshooting proce-

Troubleshooting measures
The power supply is automatically taken over by the battery
(approx. 24 hours) until the mains voltage is restored - Safety against
backflow is guaranteed:
– Check mains cable connection and
– Circuit breakers
– Check battery / battery fuse
– Check cabling
Battery voltage has not achieved 13.9 V after 10 hours of charging or
is less than 5 V - no safeguarding against backwater in case of power
outage:
– Replace battery,
Note: In case of backflow, there is a risk of flooding - Set the emer-
gency closing device to position »ZU« (Closed).
Trigger the self-test with T3:
– If the motor doesn't begin immediately, check the cable connections
in the control unit.
If the error message remains, replace the cover (model 4987.418)
– The engine is turning and trying to close the motor-driven flap but
the error message continues: Open and clean cover, see inspection
and maintenance documentation.
If the error message remains, replace the cover.
