clockwise to lock the lid into position. The pin of the safety
locking pin must lie exactly in the centre of the opening in
the lid arm.
9. Ensure that the pressure release valve is lying flat in the
correct orientation on the steam vent with the nose facing
towards the centre of the lid.
10. Press the START/Select dial to start cooking. The STOP/
CANCEL button backlight will illuminate red, the LCD screen
will illuminate orange, "PREHEATING" will appear and the
pressure bar on the left will climb to indicate the cooker is heating and building
up pressure.
Note:
When opening or closing the lock of the lid, an acoustic signal will sound. If the
lid has not been locked correctly, "LOCK LID" will appear on the LCD screen and
a signal will sound. Close the lid and turn the lid knob clockwise to lock the lid.
Small bursts of steam may be released, as the Multicook stabilises
CAUTION:
pressure. This is normal. Do not hold your hands, arms and face over the
cooker during any phase of operation, to avoid scalds.
Once the cooker has reached pressure, "PREHEATING" will disappear, the coo-
ker alert will sound, the timer will start counting down the remaining cooking
time, and the pressure bar will stop climbing, indicating the current pressure in
the heating compartment.
11. At any time during the pressure cook cycle, you can:
- adjust the cooking time via the TIME dial,
- pause the cycle by pressing the STOP/CANCEL button,
- cancel the cycle by holding the STOP/CANCEL button pressed for 2 seconds.
If there is already pressure in the heating compartment, the appliance will go
immediately to the steam release cycle.
At the end of the cooking cycle, the cooker alert will sound and the pressure
release cycle starts. The steam icon will blink, the timer will start counting up
and the pressure bar will decrease, indicating the current pressure in the heating
compartment.
- In AUTO QUICK and AUTO PULSE mode, steam will be automatically released
through the pressure release valve.
- In NATURAL mode, pressure will naturally subside in the heating compartment
due to cooling down, without forcing steam through the pressure release valve.
