operation always keep hands, arms and face in appropriate distance to the lid of
the appliance, to avoid severe scalds.
It is good advice to adhere to the pressure release method, offered by the appliance.
ADJUST THE ALTITUDE
Pressure builds and increases when the temperature inside the heating compartment
rises and reaches the boiling point. The boiling point depends on the air pressure
of the surroundings. If the appliance is operated at locations of higher altitude, the
boiling temperature of water decreases as a result of the drop in air pressure. This
creates very different conditions for cooking when using a pressure cooker. In order
to maintain consistent cooking results at various altitudes, the Design Multicook Pro-
fessional offers an altitude adjust feature that adepts the cooking functions to the
altitude of your current location.
Note:
The Multicook should not be used at altitudes above 2,000 m. The exact altitude
of your location can be found at www.elevationmap.ne.
1. To enter the Altitude Adjust mode, switch OFF the appliance to standby mode
(hold the STOP/CANCEL button pressed until the LCD screen gets dark).
2. In standby mode, press and hold both the KEEP WARM and RELEASE buttons
for approx. 2 seconds.
"ALt" is shown on the LCD screen with the current setting. Default: „0 M".
3. Turn the TIME dial to enter the altitude of your current location. The altitude can
be adjusted from 0 m to 1999 m in steps of 250 m.
4. Press the START/ Select dial to confirm.
The appliance's settings have now been adjusted for your current altitude and
the Multicook switches to standby mode (OFF). You may start the appliance now
for any desired cooking process.
By restoring factory settings, your user-defined settings for the altitude
IMPORTANT:
"ALt" will be deleted (see: 'Restoring Factory Settings").

You can reset the appliance to factory settings, thus deleting any changes and indivi-
dual settings you made before. These are the altitude "ALt" setting and your settings
with the CUSTOM functions for PRESSURE COOK and SLOW COOK.
