Vehicle care
13. Wind the jack up by hand until it
engages with the jacking point.
Ensure that the jack is not tilted
and the base is resting squarely
on the ground.
Warning
Failure to position the jack as
described could cause the
vehicle to slip off the jack.
Do not get under a vehicle that is
supported by a jack. No person
should place any portion of their
body under a vehicle that is
supported by a jack.
14. Rotate the wrench checking the
correct position of the jack, until
the wheel is clear of the ground.
15. Unscrew the wheel nuts and
place in a clean, dry place.
16. Exchange the wheel on the
vehicle with the spare wheel.
17. Clean the wheel nuts and
thread before replacing, then
lightly tighten with the wheel nut
wrench.
18. Lower the vehicle by reversing
the jacking procedure.
19. Remove the jack from under the
vehicle.
20. With the wheel on the ground,
use the wheel wrench to tighten
the wheel nuts in the sequence
shown.
21. Replace the flat tyre and tools in
the load compartment.
Note
To avoid rattling, tighten the
screw head on the jack and
make sure the jack isn't touching
any other vehicle tools.
22. Have the flat tyre renewed or
repaired.
