Downward shifts are made
automatically when the vehicle
slows down.
When the vehicle stops, first gear
is automatically selected.

Engine braking

To utilise the engine braking effect,
select a lower gear when driving
downhill.
Warning
Do not downshift by two or more
gear positions at one time.
Note
Use of engine compression during
long mountainous descents may
prolong the life of your brakes.
Parking
1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Select position P.
3. Pull the park brake lever up
firmly.
4. Remove the ignition key.

Kickdown

For faster acceleration:
1. Press the accelerator pedal all
the way down and hold.
The transmission shifts to a
lower gear depending on the
engine speed.
Driving and operating

Neutral idle control

This feature is designed to reduce
fuel consumption when idling and
stationary.
When idling in a forward gear while
the brake pedal is pressed, the
transmission switches into neutral.
When the brake pedal is released,
the transmission switches back to
the selected forward gear.
