Updating the PBX software version
The new PBX software version must be available on the computer on which the OMC application is
running. The DownloadingItems directory including the new software delivery must be unzipped.
Updating the software version of a PBX consists in:
Downloading the new software version on the PBX
Indicating when the PBX must implement the new software version (immediately or at a specific
date)
To update the software version running on the PBX, proceed as follows:
1. Launch the OMC application and select OMC > Tools
2. Select the OMC - Software Download application
The Communication Path window opens
3. Select the LAN/WAN option (recommended), enter the IP address for the main CPU board, then
click OK
A login page is displayed
4. Enter the management password for software download and click OK
The OMC - Software Download window opens
5. In the Delivery file field, use the browser to select the directory above the DownloadingItems
directory including the new software delivery
6. in the ...Delivery field of Country & Supplier... area, use the drop-down menu to select the country
target of the new software version (for example: France)
7. Download all the files (by selecting the Download all files check box) or just the files whose Action
field contains the value Install
8. Select the Data saving check box if the PBX must save and restore data after software update
Note:
If the Data saving check box is not selected, use the OMC to save the data before starting software update.
Restore this data after software update is finished.
9. Select the Languages check box and select the language of the voice guides to download
10.Select the Time Zone check box and define a time zone by selecting a city and country
11.Select the ACD/MLAA/SCR service check box to download Automatic Call Distribution (ACD),
Multiple Automated Attendant MLAA), and Smart Call Routing (SCR) (optional components)
12.Select the Voice Over IP Services check box and download the files needed for the Voice over IP
features, by selecting the My IC Phone check box and/or 4135 IP Conference Phonecheck box
13.In the Swap area, indicate when the PBX must implement the new software version, either:
Immediately after closing the OMC - Software Download application: select the After OMC
disconnect check box
Or at specific date: select the Date check box and fill in the Date and Time fields
14.Click Start to launch software update
You can follow the progress of the software download at the bottom of the window. Each download
action (or acknowledgement) displays a message on screen.
