Operating and Display Elements

All the operating and display elements are positioned on the front of the AddFEM
above the cover.
Operating Elements
The AddFEM can be operated by means of a key–operated switch and a slide
switch on the front. The individual switch settings are explained in the following
table.

The following point is to be observed if the redundancy control is carried out by the
automation processor (AP) (this is for example the case if the optical–fiber cables
are defective or missing):
If a redundancy changeover was forced by setting the master briefly to STOP by
means of the key–operated switch, this module cannot take over the master state
again until 8 seconds has passed. If a further changeover in the master state is
attempted during this period by setting the second module to STOP, this causes a
double reserve, i.e. failure of the automation function.

Regular operation
Outputs are enabled
Preprocessing function (FEF) is processed.
The key can be removed in this position so that unauthorized
changing of the operating mode is not possible.
STOP:
The outputs are disabled.
Procedures for setting the PROFIBUS DP addresses and for re-
setting the AddFEM can be executed.

changing of the operating mode is not possible.
Only for 6DL3100–8AB/–8AC:
Preprocessing function (FEF) is executed.
In case of module redundancy a master/reserve changeover is
forced, the module becomes a "forced reserve".
