Chapter 6 Troubleshooting

6.6 Checking output

If outputs to variables and registers on the program are correct, but actual output
operation is not, prepare the following:
(1) Save the program. (In a HDD, MO, CD-ROM, DVD-RAM, etc)
(2) Clear the S2 CPU memory.
(3) Turn the ROM/RAM changeover switch to "RAM" (ON).
Then do the following:
Match hardware configuration
on the engineering tool and
actual hardware
implementation, and register I/
O symbols (I/O variables).
Run S2, and check the
following:
Using data setting function of
the engineering tool, write a
value to I/O variable, and turn
ON/OFF output. Does LED on
the output module turn ON/
OFF correctly?
YES
Is external supply voltage of
the output module normal?
YES
Does fuse normal?
YES
Supplementary
1. Be sure to find and get rid of the cause of blown fuse. If the fuse is replaced, and power is up
again without eliminating the cause, damages to modules may get serious. If the cause of
blown fuse cannot be determined, consult Toshiba without replacing the fuse.
2. For registering modules and I/O symbols with the engineering tool, see "Engineering Tool 3
Basics" (6F8C1006).
Save the program on HDD, etc.

Adjust external supply voltage to voltage
specified for each output module.

Get rid of cause of blown fuse and
replace fuse.
