4-2-7. Installing the Hub
The Hub is packed in the separate package from that of the console.
This section describes the procedure of installation starting from unpacking up to installation in the basic
storage system.
When using a commercially-available switching hub :
. It should support 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX.
. It should support full-duplex transmission.

. A commercially-available switching hub cannot be connected to the system. Also, do not use the
switching hub DC power cable that is supplied with the system.
. There are two types of shipment for HUB. One type HUB has port on the front and another HUB has
port on the rear.
. There are two types of shipment from the factory for the HUB supplied with the Basic storage system.
One type is that the HUB is already preinstalled while the other type is that the HUB is supplied in
separate package.
. This topic describes how to install the HUB that is shipped separately from the factory in the Basic
storage system using the Hub holders.
Procedure
1. Unpack the Hub.
2. Attach the provided four rubber feet to the hub.
3. Open the front door (bottom). (Refer to "4-2-1. Opening the Outer Cabinets".)
4. Remove the four screws securing the two Hub holders that have already been installed earlier inside
the console.
