Take this into consideration when planning the bus length and placing the power unit. The following tolerance in the bus interface power supply (pin 9 on the sub-D plug) applies for the Festo CPV Direct: = 30.0 V = 11.0 V Recommendation: Place the power unit in or near the centre of the bus.
This connection serves for the incoming and continuing field bus cable. Connect the CPV Direct with the sub-D socket from Festo type FBS-SUB-9-BU-2x4pol. The connection for the power supply is in the form of a plug. The pin assignment of the plug can be found on the following pages. For connecting the power supply, use plugs from the Festo range which correspond to the outer diameter of the cable used (see Appendix A.3).

By the use of PELV power units, protection against electric shock (protection against direct and indirect contact) is guar- anteed with the Festo valve terminals in accordance with EN 60204-1/IEC 204.
