7.2 Engine problems

Fault description
Engine does not start
Engine does not crank when oper-
ating the recoil starter
Starter rope of recoil starter does not
return to initial position
Engine stops frequently in short
intervals
Engine does not run with full speed
Engine runs with high speed, but no
vibration
Cause
Fuel tank empty
Fuel system clogged
Fuel nozzle clogged
No ignition spark
Engine oil level too low
Set the engine stop
switch to position "OFF"

Trouble shooting
Remedy
Check the fuel level, top up if necessary.
Clean the fuel screen in the tank
Replacing the fuel filter
Clean the fuel screen in the carburettor
Clean the fuel nozzle
Clean the spark plug, replace if neces-
sary
Check the engine oil level, correct if nec-
essary
Set the engine stop switch to position
"ON"
Replace the engine stop switch
Check the fuel supply
Replace the recoil starter
Replace the recoil starter
Clean the recoil starter

Clean the fuel screen in the tank
