5 Preparation for use
CAUTION
Incorrect alignment or assembly
Risk of injury due to damaged prosthetic components
► Observe the alignment and assembly instructions.
CAUTION
Improper assembly of the screw connections
Risk of injury due to breakage or loosening of the screw connec
tions
► Clean the threads before every installation.
► Apply the specified torque values.
► Follow the instructions regarding the length of the screws and
about how to secure the screws.
CAUTION
Improper processing of the anchor arms of the lamination
anchor
Risk of injury due to breakage of the anchor arms
► Only bend anchor arms made of steel.
► Avoid excessive or too frequent bending of the anchor arms.
► Use the 711S4* bending irons for bending.
5.1 Laminating the transtibial socket
Required tools and materials:
>
711S4* bending iron, 99B81* PVA bag, 623T3* Perlon stockin
ette, 616B1* carbon fibre cloth strap, 699B1* fibreglass roving,
616G12* carbon fibre cloth, 616G15* carbon fibre stockinette,
617H119* Orthocryl lamination resin 80:20 PRO
1) Pull a soaked PVA bag over the model. The PVA bag should be
sealed by heat welding at the distal end.
2) Pull two layers of Perlon stockinette over the model.
3) Place three layers of carbon fibre cloth (e.g. 15 cm x 15 cm), off
set on the distal end of the model.
4) Pull two layers of Perlon stockinette over the model.
5) Bring the lamination anchor arms in the correct a-p and m-l posi
tion.
6) Optional: Adapt the anchor arms of the lamination anchor to the
model with a bending iron.
7) Set the 4X3 lamination dummy on the pyramid adapter of the lam
ination anchor.
8) For 4R63, 4R100: Place the 4X52 lamination dummy on the prox
imal side of the lamination anchor. The lamination dummy remains
in the prosthesis socket.
9) Place the lamination anchor at the socket end as required for
proper alignment and set. Use the marking on the 4X3 lamination
dummy.
10) Stabilise and fix the lamination anchor with a sealing resin/talcum
powder mixture.
11) Pull the fibreglass roving through the holes in the anchor arms
and allow it to hang in a loop. If there are no holes, allow the
fibreglass roving to hang around the anchor arms in a loop.
12) Place three layers of carbon fibre cloth (e.g. 15 cm x 15 cm) off
set over the lamination anchor arms.
13) Pull one layer of Perlon stockinette over the model.
14) Pull two layers of carbon fibre stockinette over the model.
15) Pull two layers of Perlon stockinette over the model and tie off in
the groove of the lamination anchor.
16) Pull a soaked PVA bag over the model.
17) Complete the lamination process with Orthocryl lamination resin.
18) After the lamination resin has cured, remove the 4X3 lamination
dummy.
