6.3.3.5.1 Using Output Configuration H-Side/L-Side 1

Shared 0V potential for all loads in the output configuration
H-Side/L-Side 1!
If you set the Intial Configuration parameter to the value "H-Side/L-Side 1" and
the wiring is implemented accordingly, then the switched shared 0V potential of
the loads switched using the interference-free I/O modules is connection O-.
Never connect the loads when using this output configuration to the 0V potential
of the 24V field supply voltage because the 24V field supply voltage for the
interference-free I/O modules can be switched OFF single-channel otherwise.
If necessary, use a field side connection module, e.g., 750-614, to reproduce the
switched shared 0V potential of the interference-free I/O modules.
Important information about achievable risk reduction!
Please note that diagnostic measures such as positively-driven relay contacts must
be read back via safe digital inputs depending on the safety application. Risk
reductions up to SIL3/Cat.4/PL e can be achieved with this configuration.
You can set the value of the Output Configuration parameter to "H-Side/L-
Side 1" and the make the appropriate wiring to switch off the interference-free I/O
modules safely.
The PROFIsafe I/O module then switches both semiconductor switches ON or
OFF at the same time using the bit 0 of the output process image.

The 24V and 0V potentials of the 24V field supply voltage for the subsequent
interference-free I/O modules are safely switched OFF in the Output
Configuration "H-Side/L-Side 1".
