II. Troubleshooting illegible characters
1)
Symptom
After the power-on of the security gateway, console terminal displays illegible
characters

Solution
Confirm the parameters are configured at the terminal (such as HyperTerminal):
Bits per second = 9600
Data bits = 8
Parity = none
Stop bits = 1
Flow control = none
Terminal emulation = VT100
Reset them if they are not the same as the above list.
6.3 Troubleshooting Application Upgrading
I. Fault 1

Symptom
Boot the security gateway, upgrade Comware software using TFTP, and the system
displays the following messages:

Solution
The above symptom may be caused by either of the two problems:
The TFTP Server program does not run.
The Ethernet is not connected properly.
Run the TFTP Server program on the system, confirm that the IP address is set
correctly, and the network cables are connected.
II. Fault 2
