Overview
This section describes PRIMEPOWER900 partitions.
The PRIMEPOWER900 permits a single system to be divided into independent
systems for operation. Each of these independent systems is referred to as a partition.
The operating system can operate independently in each partition.
Hardware protects each partition so that it is not adversely affected by unauthorized
access from other partitions. Therefore, a failure (such as operating system hang-up)
occurring in one partition does not directly affect an application running in another
partition. In each partition, the operating system can be reset and shut down
independently.
The partition configuration can be defined with the system management console
function.
