Equipment damage
Be sure to follow the precautions below when installing the equipment. Otherwise,
the equipment may be damaged.
• Safety precautions for rack mounting
Follow the instructions below to ensure safety when installing the main unit in the
rack.
l The main unit is installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, so the ambient
operating temperature inside the rack may be higher than the room temperature.
Install the main unit in an environment in which the ambient temperature does not
exceed 35°C (95°F).
- Adjust air circulation to prevent the temperature inside the rack from exceeding
the maximum ambient temperature specified for the main unit.
- The maximum allowable operating temperature of the main unit in the rack is
35°C (95°F).
l A certain amount of air flow is required for safe operation of the main unit
mounted in the rack.
- The main unit has ventilation openings at the front and rear. Do not cover or
close the ventilation openings. Doing so may cause the main unit to overheat.
l Mounting the main unit in the rack may cause the entire rack to be unstable
because of uneven mechanical loading. To maintain the stability of the entire rack,
secure the rack to a wall or floor by proper means.
- Exercise caution to avoid being injured when mounting the main unit in the
rack.
- Do not mount the main unit in a rack that will become physically unstable
because of the main unit's additional load.
- The maximum allowable weight of the main unit is 160 kg (352.8 lb.).
