Troubleshooting: Diagnostic Tests
Connect a modem to COM 2 and select the Modem Test. The test returns
the modem ID number, firmware rev, and current parameter settings. If
communication with the modem is unsuccessful, the ID and firmware rev
display N/A.
This test does not apply to the MAC 5000 system.

Follow the instructions on screen.
NOTE
A shorting bar is required to perform this test.
Tests if the acquisition module is powered
Tests if the acquisition module is communicating
Displays the acquisition module lead wire noise
Indicates when one of the three acquisition module buttons is
pressed
Displays software version of acquisition module
Follow the instructions on screen to monitor the analog outputs using an
oscilloscope. The outputs monitored are:
+12V
DC Output 1
DC Output 2
ECG Output
TTL Trigger Output
Four sets of outputs are possible. Select the output sets using the arrow
pad.
For example, to test DCOut1, connect oscilloscope to pin 2 and ground to
pin 4 or 5 and select DCOut2 0V and check oscilloscope for reading of
0volts. repeat for other selections. If any of these readings do not match,
CPU may need to be replaced.
