Preheating with Gas

Before the oven can be used for cooking it must undergo a Preheat or curing stage.
This is a gradual, low flame stage designed to thoroughly "warm" the oven prior to use.
This is common practice for all ovens and must be done to ensure that the materials in
the oven are slowly "cured" to reduce cracking. The oven should be preheated for at
least 72 hours (three (3) days) CONTINUOUSLY.
For ovens with two (2) burners, both manual gas isolation valves should be half closed
per the instruction below.
To preheat the oven, ignite both burners as per the instruction in Commissioning and
set to LOW FLAME.
While on Low Flame, manually decrease the flame size to approximately half by closing
the manual gas isolation valve. This will allow a lesser amount of gas to burn, allowing a
smaller flame. Slowly bring the oven up to approx. 100°C and adjust the isolation valve
until the oven temperature stabilises at around 100°C.

Handle Horizontal = CLOSED
The oven can now run, keeping the floor temperature at approx. 100°C for 24 hours
continuously.
After day one (1) raise the floor temperature to 150°C by slowly opening the isolation
valve(s) on the burner(s). Run at this temperature continuously for 24 hours.
After day two (2) raise the floor temperature to 200°C by slowly opening the isolation
valve(s) on the burner(s). Run at this temperature continuously for 24 hours.
NOTE: It is vital that only a small flame is used to preheat the oven. A large,
fierce flame may crack the walls. Cracking cannot be repaired and although
unsightly, will not affect the longevity or performance of the oven.
