Burning Wood and Gas

NOTE: To adhere to Australian Gas regulations, the combination of solid fuel
(wood, charcoal, etc.) and gas is not permitted.
For the Beech E-series ovens, it is not recommended that any wood be used in gas
ovens as the soot and ash created by the wood fire will affect the burner function and
eventually the gas burners will fail. If burning wood is required, it is advised to keep the
wood in a metal tray/pan and keep it well away from the gas burner.
If burning wood in a gas oven, it is strongly advised to check the exhaust configuration
for the oven as in some regions it is prohibited to burn solid fuel below an exhaust duct
which is connected with other kitchen equipment – i.e. any solid fuel appliance must
have a dedicated exhaust system.
Check with your local mechanical contractor before using solid fuel in the oven.
