7.10.1

Characteristics

SIMATIC RF640T transponder is a passive (i.e. battery-free) and maintenance-free, round-
shaped data carrier. It operates based on UHF Class 1 Gen 2 technology and is used to
save the "Electronic Product Code" (EPC) of 96 bits/240 bits. The transponder also has a
512-bit user memory.
The areas of application are industrial asset management, RF identification of tools,
containers and metallic equipment.
The tool tag is small and rugged and suitable for industrial applications with degree of
protection IP68. It is highly resistant to oil, grease and cleaning agents.
SIMATIC RF640T should preferably be mounted directly on a flat metal surface of at least
150 mm in diameter.
