Service information
Maintenance of a medical device is wholly the responsibility
of the owner of that device. Failure to maintain a device in
accordance with the instructions may invalidate the device's
warranty. Furthermore, failure to maintain a device may
compromise the clinical condition or safety of users and/or
their caregivers.
Daily
•
Use a dry cloth to clean the product
•
Visual inspection. Repair or replace any damaged or
worn-out parts
•
Ensure that all fasteners are in place and fitted correctly
•
Check all fittings and buckles for signs of worn out parts
•
Be aware of any MAX mark indications before adjust-
ment
Weekly
•
Wipe off any residue and dirt from the product using a
cloth with warm water and a mild detergent/soap with-
out chlorine and let dry before use
•
Disinfect the product. please check the disinfection
section in this User Guide for more information
Monthly
•
All nuts and bolt on this product must be checked and
tightened to avoid unnecessary failures
•
Oil the swing-away parts. We recommend you use a
professional lubricant system
Annually
•
Inspect the product for cracks or signs for worn-out
parts and carry out annual service. Never use a product
which appears to be substandard or faulty
WHEELS
Wheel axles: The axles should be kept free of dirt. Clean as
frequently as necessary.
Ball bearings: The ball bearings require no maintenance.
Handrims: If a handrim should be damaged in such a way
that it could lead to hand injury, it should be replaced.
22" tires: Check the air pressure (recommended: 55 PSI/3,8
bar/380 kPa) and tread at a regular basis. For instance by
your local bicycle engineer.
12½" tires: Check the air pressure (recommended: 35
PSI/2,5 bar/240 kPa) and tread at a regular basis. For in-
stance by your local bicycle engineer.
Brakes
The function of the brakes is dependent upon tire pres-
sure. Caked on dirt can have a negative effect on the brake
mechanism. The brakes should be checked at least once a
month.
For safety routinely check to make sure the distance be-
tween the wheel and the wheel lock block is: 8-10 mm. The
brakes should not be activated when the frame is stored as
this could result in a flat spot in the solid inner of the tyre. If
drum brakes are mounted, the cables have to be adjusted,
to ensure the brakes are working properly. Make sure the
wheels can not be turned around when the brakes are ac-
tivated.
Warewashing machine
This product can be washed at 60° using a mild detergent
for 15-20 minutes in a warewashing washing machine
designed for medical devices. Use the machine's drying
function to dry the product. Remove all accessories and
cushions before washing the main product. Clean the ac-
cessories separately. Please allow the product to dry before
reuse.
Disinfection
The product without accesories and cushion can be disin-
fected with a 70% disinfectant solution. It is recommended
to wipe off any residue and dirt from the product, using a
cloth with warm water and a mild detergent/soap without
chlorine and let it dry before disinfection.
Accessories and spare parts
The products from R82 can be supplied with a variety of
accessories which comply with the needs of the individual
user. Spare parts can be ordered on request. Find the spe-
cific accessories on our website or contact your local dealer
for further information.
Service interval
A detailed inspection of the product must be made every 12
months (every 6 months for heavy users) and every time the
product is reissued for use. The inspection should be carried
out by a technically competent person who has been trained
in the use of the product.
The lifetime of this product in normal use is 5 years if all
maintenance and servicing is carried out in accordance with
the manufacturer's instructions and demonstrably recorded.
Service Check List
Check and adjust the following functions as per their intend-
ed use. Repair or replace any damaged or worn-out parts.
Please check the:
Seat plane adjustment. The seat plane is adjustable

and stays in position after adjustment. The gas-spring
for seat tilt is adjusted correctly. Furthermore, it is pos-
sible to lock to lock the seat plane in position
If a seat adapter is mounted, check that the red handle
•
for locking works and that the safety lock "clicks into
position when inserting a seat into the adapter
Wheels are moving freely and that all wheel locks/
•
brakes are easily activated. Adjust if required otherwise
replace malfunctioning parts
Quick release wheels are removable/replaceable
•
If wheels are mounted with air tires, check the tire pres-
•
sure and adjust if required
Spoke guards is without cracks and secured to the
•
wheel with the clips mounted on each guard
The Pushbrace can be folded over the frame
•
Check the anti-tips can be fixed in working and resting
•
position
Nuts and bolts on the product are tightened
•
Swing-away parts are oiled
•
Frame for cracks or signs of worn-out parts
•
All labels on the product are intact
•
